APERS Change Instructions
To change the Employee percentage for all new employees:
1. Click the SETUP menu, Payroll Details, and choose EMPLOYERS.
2. Your City name should come up in a list. Double click on it.
3. Go to the Deductions & Benefits tab.
4. Find APERS in the top section and click on the Employee part of the deduction
5. On the right side of the screen make sure your information matches what is listed below:
6. Click SAVE.
To change all current Employees at once:
1. Go to your Employees screen. Click the Mass Update button at the bottom of the screen.
2. Click Next
3. Choose Deduction, Next.
4. Select APERS, Next
5. Choose Add Effective Date, Next
6. Enter 7/1/2025 as the new effective date. Next. It will update and show you the changes.
Click Next again. System will ask, ‘Are you sure’? Click Yes.
7. Click the New button
8. Choose Deductions, Next.
9. Choose APERS, Next.
10. Select the date 07/01/2025, Next
11. Select Rate, Next
12. Change the rate at the bottom to 6.00% and click Next
13. Will display changes, if they look good, click Next. Will ask, ‘are you sure’? Click Yes
14. Click Finish
**The EMPLOYER contribution rate did not change as of 7/1/2025
**Elected Officials are still subject to an extra 2.5% contribution so please be aware of that and
make the necessary changes to those employees.
